Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba and Winnipeg (Ride Don’t Hide Route Marshal)Organization Name: Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba and Winnipeg
Opportunity Title: Ride Don’t Hide Route Marshal
Category: Special Events / Festivals
Commitment: One Day / Special Event
Start Date: June 26, 2016
End Date: June 26, 2016
On Sunday, June 26th we are holding our Ride Don’t Hide cycling event to raise awareness about mental health/illness, fight the stigma, and fundraise for mental health services. There will be 3 rides throughout the morning (see www.ridedonthide.com for more details). Course control is one of the most important roles and will require the largest number of volunteers. Marshals will direct the cyclists and monitor course crossings so spectators don’t get hit by bikes on the course. Bonus: you are right where the action is taking place! Feel free to bring some noisemakers and get ready to cheer our riders on! Event is taking place at Fort Whyte Alive and we are currently working on arranging transportation for volunteers who need it from the Canadian Mental Health Association at 930 Portage Ave. to Fort Whyte Alive and back again. Group volunteer orientations will take place on Tuesday, June 21 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm and Wednesday, June 22 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm (you must attend one of these or make alternate arrangements). You can also register online as a virtual rider to fundraise at www.ridedonthide.com . Contact Tammy Dueck at firstname.lastname@example.org.
