Volunteer Resources

Volunteering is not always straight forward. Here at Volunteer Winnipeg we’re trying to make things easier by bringing together volunteer resources from across the Internet and making them accessible to you.

Our Blog

Volunteer Winnipeg’s blog will feature regular blog postings that will highlight a variety of subjects, including (as examples):

  • how to better engage with volunteers;
  • benefits of volunteer work;
  • working with nonprofit organizations;
  • building career skills; and
  • volunteering abroad.

We will also seek out opportunities to engage with nonprofit organizations in Winnipeg and ask them to do feature postings on their organization. This will give them an opportunity to highlight the great work they do, and to have a higher level of engagement with the community. If you or your organization have interest in posting to Volunteer Winnipeg’s blog, then please contact us.

Volunteer News

We will highlight local volunteer news in the News section of Volunteer Winnipeg. If you have a news article you would like highlighted, please contact us.

Volunteer Quotes

Looking for inspirational quotes about helping others? volunteering? Look no further! Volunteer Winnipeg‘s quotes database is always growing.

I interviewed my dad on video in his final weeks. When I asked about his work and finding meaning through helping others, he responded, “I don’t think you can be focused on, ‘Oh gee, I want to make a difference.’ It has to be spontaneous. If it’s not…there’s some kind of egotistical thing going on. That’s a red flag. You hope you impact people on the deepest level you are capable of at the time. Sometimes you hit it, sometimes you don’t. You’re trying.
