Under restorative justice diversion MS receives between 300 – 500 court referrals from the crown and Winnipeg Police. Niriqatiginnga is an Indigenous and youth-led non-profit organization that empowers Indigenous youth through arts, media, and cultural entrepreneurship. With a primary focus on food security, and food sector entrepreneurship, the program uses participatory approaches to training. Originating as a grassroots initiative, it focuses on addressing food insecurity, climate change adaptation, and community development in Northern Manitoba and Nunavut. Utilizing participatory research and community-driven methodologies, Niriqatiginnga fosters mentorship, governance, and management skills among Indigenous communities. The organization collaborates with various community partners and academic institutions to drive sustainability, resilience, and cultural preservation.
