MCC Thrift mission is to support Mennonite Central Committee supporting relief, development and peace projects locally and around the world. MCC Thrift shops are community hubs offering low cost items and supporting community building through vibrant volunteer communities.
Mediation Services (MS) consists of four programs. Namely:
- (1) community mediation
- (2) family mediation
- (3) restorative justice diversion
- (4) training
Under community mediation, MS offers neutral, third-party support for families, neighbours and non-profit workplaces in addressing challenges in relationships using the principles of restorative justice.
Under family mediation, MS provides conflict engagement coaching and mediation between separated/ divorced partners and helps them to make decisions that are best for themselves and their children.
Under restorative justice diversion MS receives between 300 â 500 court referrals from the crown and Winnipeg Police. MS facilitates the coming together of the person who did harm and the person who experienced harm using restorative principles to address harm and restore relationships.
Finally, the training pillar of MS acts as a social enterprise and supports conflict engagement and mediation skill-building as well as practise opportunities and coaching for individuals and groups.
The Manitoba Women in Agriculture and Food (MWAF) works to empower women to achieve their career and business aspirations. MWAF also supports companies and industry organizations to advance diversity, equality and inclusion in the workplace.
We are a registered non-profit that advocates for all women in the entire agriculture and food processing sectors, from producers to the products and services sectors.
The Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities (MLPD) is a provincial not-for-profit organization that promotes accessibility and inclusion for people of all abilities.
We are a group of experienced, diverse, influential and engaging staff and volunteers who educate and offer expert advice in a wide range of topics and issues relating to accessibility.
The Manitoba Down Syndrome Society is a non-profit organization that provides support, information and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome, parents, professionals and other interested persons.

Aboriginal Support
Established in 1984, Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata is a Grandmother in the Winnipeg family of community service-providers with more than 30 years of experience working with Indigenous families. We are community people helping other community people reclaim our inherent roles and responsibilities as Indigenous caregivers and the most important teachers of our children.
The name Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata translates from Ojibway into the phrase, âwe all work together to help one another.â
Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre is a strength and value-based family resource organization delivering community-based programs and services within the philosophy embodied in our name. Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre believes in accountability, transparency and effective use of resources. For us, this means working together with our families, our partners, funders and governments to create community based solutions that build local capacity for self-care.
Our mission is to stop impaired driving and to support victims of this violent crime. Our key areas of focus are youth, education and awareness, public policy, technology and victim support.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities with our Chapter from board positions to special event support. We meet once a month, if you would like to attend one of our meetings please email us to find out the date.
No experience necessary to volunteer with us. We provide all the training and support you need.

IRCOM Objectives
Housing: To provide safe and affordable transitional housing to low-income newcomer families in their 1st three years of living in Canada. To ultimately provide newcomer families with a comfortable and nurturing environment that empowers both parents and children to smoothly adapt to their new community.
Programming: To connect people with quality and accessible programs that support participants and community members to gain the tools they need to integrate and settle into Winnipeg life. Our programs will consistently aim to fill gaps and build partnerships with others working in the community and settlement sectors.
Be agents of change: Help to facilitate systematic change by engaging the public and policy makers to better understand newcomer issues, while highlighting the stories and voices of newcomers with the goal of achieving wider societal change.
Build Community: Create and support a community within and beyond IRCOM where individuals feel safe, loved, cared for, welcome, supported, respected and included.
Develop as âlearningâ organization: To be a âlearning organizationâ that is always developing, adapting and growing, as we work to meet the changing needs of our staff, stakeholders and community members
